Abstract: Mean curvature flow deforms hypersurfaces in a given ambient space in the direction of their mean curvature vectors. In this talk, we explore the phenomenon of Type-II curvature blow-up in mean curvature flows of noncompact hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space. This is based on joint projects with James Isenberg and Zhou Zhang.
